السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته،

There’s plenty to write about animals and inshaAllaah a brother expressed to me that he wants to put up a blog about animal hilarity in Saudia. Animals here behave a lot like the people. One phenomenon that we noticed here is that the cats act just like the locals.
A brother told me that one time he was walking with a thobe but he looked a bit funny, he wasnt dressed right with his Smagh and not only were the people looking at him but the cats stopped and stared at him with the “man what you wearing” look. Now some of you will say “well cats always stare”, no not here they dont. They look at you and go back to whatever they’re doing. I remember walked back from Ishaa and a cat was walking in front of me. I took a step real loud and the cat jumped startled and looked at me and gave me a “oh it’s just you” look and just walked off. These cats have personality so when they look at you, you can relate something to their expressions.
This brother told me about when him and some brothers were on the higher floor of the Haram al Makkee and they were looking down on the roof of one of the turkish expansions. There is no real access for it but they spotted a cat stranded there. How’d the cat get up there? no one knew. But it turned and looked at the brothers and was pleading for help going “Meow Meow” as if it was saying “help me help me”.
So one brother spots a ladder and points to it and says “Meow Meow!!” and the cat turns and looks at the ladder then looks back at the brothers in a “man you crazy, i can’t climb down that” look and said “Meow!”.
Things become more fun when you apply a personality to these cats and animals. People in the west must be thinking “man these guys are fools… talking about how cats have personality”. But we dont dress up our cats and dogs like people and take them to salons to get their hair done.
It’s not uncommon to see a cat lazing about on the edge of the garbage can. It lifts its head, looks up at you and goes back to sleep, you aint a threat.
Some cats (like one cat did to me today) will grill you as you walk by, like they want to start something with you.
Have you ever tried scaring two cats about to fight? They stare at each other making battle cries and then you just yell BOO and they both jump and forget they were fighting.
A brother told me that a rooster started messing with him because the rooster didnt like that he walked too close to his hen.
It’s funny when this brother described how in Makkah there are only two dogs, they live in the same part of the city but on the opposite ends of town… but they dont know each other.
The birds… they something else. Ever seen pigeons fall (fly) down? Well outside this small window we see these pigeons “falling” straight down flapping their wings and making a funny sound as they do.
Then comes the hilarious 10 minutes I stood watching this little kid chasing a pigeon who refused to fly. Seeing a pigeon run from a boy with a hanger is sad yet hilarious. I was standing there outside the masjid laughing at the kid while he tried everything he could to catch this bird. The bird ran and hid under a car and this kid was crawling under it to catch it. Finally the bird got fed up after 10 minutes and just flew away.
Yea there are a lot of funny animal stories here. I’ve summarized enough here.
I might have to add more cat stories, but I’ll let the brother post his experiences instead.
